Does God bless your business because of you?
That’s a pretty interesting question. Is your company more profitable, more productive, or more successful because you’re there?
The 39th chapter of Genesis begins telling the story of Joseph’s slavery in Egypt. It starts when he was sold to a man named Potiphar, the Captain of the guard, and Joseph served as the manager over his entire household.
The 5th verse contains a key truth. It says, So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he hadin the house and in the field.
Let that sink in for a minute. Even the non-God-fearing Egyptian received residual or overflow blessings from Joseph’s faithfulness to God. The Lord’s blessing so saturated everything Joseph did it spilled over onto all that Potiphar had.
Because of the evidence of God’s blessings on Joseph, Potiphar trusted Joseph with everything he had. A few verses later it says Potiphar didn’t even know what all he had except for “the bread he ate.” Potiphar left Joseph to his own devices because he knew in everything Joseph would find success as a result of God blessing him.
What a great testimony for someone to say, I want you to work for me because God blesses all you do.
God bless you all today. Work hard and smile often.
